Outreach Programs

Oxford House Foundation of Canada provides safe and affordable housing for individuals in recovery from alcohol and/or drug addictions. Our Admission Criteria requires that any client must have had treatment and be ready to begin transition back into the community, i.e., they must gain full-time employment, go to school on a full-time basis or volunteer each day. The houses are self-supporting by the member fees each individual in the house pays and self-run by the residents in the house having a house meeting each week to discuss house business. Residents are also required to attend a minimum of two 12-step meetings each week and undertake any further counselling they may need.

The individuals in each house are responsible for participating in the care of the house (chores and outside maintenance).
Many of our residents are on-going as we do not have a time limit for their stay with us and it is up to them to leave when they feel ready. Some residents stay for years, not because of affordability, but because of the peer support they find in Oxford Houses.
